National Night of Prayer

Prolife Committee of Chautauqua County Posted on November 21, 2013 by adminNovember 21, 2013

Guadalupe_cropEach year the Feast of the Immaculate Conception takes place from 9 pm December 8 to 1 am December 9. It was on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception (then celebrated on December 9) that Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas and the unborn, first appeared to St. Juan Diego. The National Night of Prayer bridges these two feasts to honor our Blessed Mother and to pray for the sanctity of all human life.

The National Night of Prayer will be held at St. Rose of Lima Church at 11 Center Street in Forestville on Sunday, December 8 at 9 pm until Monday at 1 am. Life prayer service consists of exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, 20 decades of Rosary, prayers, hymns and silent adoration.

You are welcome to join us on the hours of 9, 10, 11 and 12 for Rosary and prayer. The remainder of the hours is spent in personal adoration. You may stay for the full 4 hours or stop in at anytime during the four hour prayer service.

Shrine to the Unborn

While much turmoil swirls around the issue of a child’s right to life, the solution lies first and foremost in prayer. The Prolife Committee invites you to attend a rosary recitation at the Shrine of the Unborn located at St. Mary’s Cemetery (10880 Bennett Rd in Dunkirk) on Wednesday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m. For your comfort bring a chair, a flash light, your rosary (of course), and dress for the weather. The children hope to see you there.

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

LIFE CHAIN is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 60 minutes praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and that the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception until natural death.

– Be a public witness to life in the silent prayerful Life Chain!

You’ll be a light in a darkened world as you help put an end to abortion through prayer!

– Stand with thousands of pro-lifers throughout the USA!

– Bring your whole family!

– Water, lawn chairs, umbrellas and strollers are welcome & encouraged.

– Rain or Shine.

– Please stand 25-30 feet apart. Do not park in front of an open business.

– Signs will be furnished upon request.

Life Chain will begin at Blessed Mary Angela Church (St. Hyacinth site) 295 Lake Shore Drive E. (Route 5), Dunkirk and head west to Central Ave. The Life Chain will continue south on Central Ave to Fredonia State.

Hello world!

Prolife Committee of Chautauqua County Posted on September 12, 2013 by adminOctober 26, 2014

Welcome to the Prolife Committee of Chautauqua County website.

The Pro Life Committee of Chautauqua County (PLCCC) promotes events that recognize the sanctity of God-given life. PLCCC draws attention to the fundamental wrong of abortion, and the need to end it in this country. We spread the news of God’s willingness to forgive any and all who have participated in the abortion process, and seek reconciliation with God. We encourage prayer to accomplish these ends.

The PLCCC includes the parishes of the greater Chautauqua County vicariate, including Westfield, Brocton, Fredonia, Dunkirk, Forestville, Silver Creek, and Jamestown.

A Celebration of Life on the 15th Anniversary of the Shrine to the Unborn was held Wednesday evening, July 17 at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Rt. 60 in Dunkirk, NY. This annual service to affirm the dignity of all Human Life was led by Deacon Matt Hens, the Knight’s of Columbus and many Pro Life Christians in attendance. It was organized and sponsored by the Pro Life Committee of Chautauqua County (PLCCC).
